There are set routes, trails and paths or you can just wander where you wish. But one thing they all have in common - the ease in which you can imagine being the first explorer trekking to a new land through a new and exciting wild frontier. Here you can experience that true pioneering spirit.

Day 1: Arrive in Rovaniemi and transfer to your accommodation in Luosto. Meet the guide and the other members of the safari, and compare expectations of the days to come. After a day of travelling and with an early start tomorrow, we suggest an early night. Overnight: Luosto - cabins with facilities.

Day 2: The day will not be too strenuous allowing you to get acquainted with your companions and the new surroundings. Overnight: cabins with facilities.

Day 3-6: Each day you will trek through the beautiful fells and forests of the Luosto region, traverse the countryside and enjoy new and varying scenery. Lunch times will normally be around a campfire and everyone will help prepare the fire and food. Overnight: hotel or cabin with facilities.

Day 7: Make your way back to Luosto for your final night. Overnight: Luosto - cabin with facilities.

Day 8: Relax in Luosto before returning to the airport for your journey home or spending some time in the resort trying your hand at a range of other activities.

The average walking distance per day is 20 kilometres (maximum on any one day around 30).
A reasonable fitness standard is required, the terrain being not to hilly but still challenging. Walking is over asphalt roads and forest tracts/roads.
